Our combined sports club has the advantage of having both rugby and netball for winter sports. The Lyttelton Rugby & Combined Sports Club was formed in 1995 and prior to this we operated as solely a rugby club. Lyttelton rugby is one of the oldest clubs in the South Islandand we are currently researching our records to re-establish our founding date (estimated somewhere between 1865 and 1880). If anyone knows of the whereabouts of this Rugby Clubs History pre mid 70's can you please contact either the Secretary or Club President - Representative Honours
Over the past 20 years we have seen some of our junior rugby members including Stephen and Graeme Bachop reach NZ status and now their nephews Aaron and Nathan Mauger. Victor Simpson – first Clubs All Black. - Vision / Goals
While only a small club we are very active with the executive working hard to increase team numbers and profile throughout the harbour basin. We have a particular focus in developing sporting youth between 15 and 21 years and encourage you to contact us to discuss how we can assist your future rugby experience. We are particularly interested in fostering rugby in the grades from Under 13 to Under 18 in the Harbour area.
