Country Rugby Sub Union Coach and Rugby Development Officer Lee

Lee Golding has been actively involved in rugby all his live, born and raised in Westport moved to Canterbury in 1978 and trained as a primary school teacher. Lee has played and coached extensively throughout the region, and for the last 12+ years he has worked for the CRFU as a Rugby and Coach Development Officer.

Lee is responsible for liaising with the Canterbury Rugby Sub-Union, North Canterbury RSU, Ellesmere RSU, South Island Junior and Teenage Board, Sport Canterbury and the Canterbury University College of Education. Lee is also responsible for conducting the Cantabrians coaching activities, Country Player Development programme, Small Blacks Courses, Tackle Box and assists in the development of Representative coaches for the Canterbury Country Sub Unions Association, Ellesmere and North Canterbury Sub Unions. He also works extensively with Country Primary and Secondary Schools in a multitide of ways, with the focus on enhancing the relationships between the schools and their local rugby clubs.

 

Secondary Schools and Metropolitan Youth Coach and Rugby Development Officer. Kim

Kim Browne started playing his rugby in Kaikoura aged 5 and is an old boy of Christchurch Boys High School where he was a boarder and played for the 1st XV and Canterbury age group Representative teams. After school he attended Lincoln University and has played and coached in Japan.

Kim's responsibilities include the running of College Day, Mid week secondary school rugby competition, Nunweek 10's, South Island Secondary Schools girls Tournament (when in Canterbury) and the conduct of the Teenage coaching course. Kim also liaises with the Rugby Administrators in Schools programme and assists in the development of Metropolitan age grade Representative teams between Under 16 and Under 18 years.

 

Metropolitan Coach and Rugby Development Officer. Brent

Brent is a transplanted Southland lad who spent 20 years in the New Zealand Army and has been with the Canterbury Rugby Football Union since 2002. Brent has the key responsibilities of Small Blacks’ rugby, Primary & Intermediate Schools, and Under 13 to Under 15 year age groups in the Secondary Schools. He is also responsible for the development of coaches in the following Metropolitan clubs; Belfast RFC, Christchurch RFC, Linwood RFC, Lyttelton RFC, Marist Albion RFC, Parklands RFC, Shirley RFC, Sydenham RFC, Hornby RFC and the Merivale RFC in Christchurch Metro area.

He delivers the skill development programme at various age levels and the Cantabrians Club coaching activities held in Metropolitan areas. Brent liaises with the Junior and Teenage Provincial Body, Metropolitan Junior and Teenage Board and assists in the development of Metropolitan representative coaches, Primary School Teams, and Under 13 - Under 15 years, Canterbury Colts and Canterbury B teams.
