2009 Results

After four months of intense competition, the Press Cup was won by St. Bede’s College who beat Nelson College in the final at Rugby Park in Christchurch. Christchurch Boys' High and Christ's College finished third and fourth respectively. St. Bede’s went on to defeat Southland Boys in the South Island play-off before representing the South Island in the Top Four competition in Rotorua where they were runners up. In midweek Riccarton High School won the Senior Boys’ Cup, Ellesmere College won the Senior Boys' Shield, Kaiapoi HS won the Boys U70kg competition and Lincoln HS won the Boys U60kg division. Papanui HS secured back-to-back titles in the Senior Girls section and Marian College won the Girls’ Tens competition. In the end-of-season tens tournament at Burnside Park the Boys’ Cup was won by Rangiora HS A, the Shield went to Hillmorton HS and the Bowl was won by Rangiora HS B. Kaiapoi HS won the U70kg cup. In the Girls’ competition, Papanui completed took the Cup, Lincoln HS won the Plate and Villa Maria won the Bowl. Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year’s competitions – we look forward to another great year in 2010.
