Christ's College was impressive in beating Marlborough Boys' College (18-10) and Lincoln HS ground out a tough win over Burnside HS (21-12). Shirley BHS won their game by the smallest margin, five points over Waimea College (12-7)completing an unusual trifecta of three Christchurch schools beating all three of their Tasman rivals on the same day. St. Bede's College looked efficient in their match against St. Thomas's, who defended stoutly, but the most noteworthy result is the convincing nature of Boys' High's win in Nelson.
