Marlborough vs Shirley Match Report

Shirley had the winning of the game, scoring some good tries in the first half through their impressive back three and centre, but they lost their momentum when prop Joseph Topai-Aveai was sin-binned for not using his arms in a tackle. Marlborough BC wrested control of the game off Shirley during the ten minutes that the big prop was off the field, forcing the home team to play “catch-up rugby.” Marlborough hooker Billy Collins was especially effective with ball in hand, as was their No. 8 Vaea Samasoni.
