Geraldine and Lincoln Prevail in College DayCanterbury's country schools played out the annual College Day event at Burnside Park under clear skies. The two boys sections were closely contested, but Geraldine HS and Darfield HS ultimately emerged as victors from the group phase. They contested a hard fought final in which Geraldine eventually won the Sam Broomhall Trophy. The girls competition was played in one division but fittingly the two leading sides - Lincoln HS and Ashburton HS - contested the final game. The match was drawn, but Lincoln took the trophy by virtue of the fact that they had one more competition point. Rangiora HS Girls won the Dan Carter Sportsmanship trophy.
