As the mid point in the competition approaches the top half and the bottom half of the competition becomes increasingly clear.

Table leaders Christchurch BHS and Christ's College both achieved bonus point wins against St. Thomas's College (61-8) and St. Andrew's College (26-8) respectively. Nelson College beat Timaru BHS, away, 21-15. St. Bede's College beat the other South Canterbury school, Roncalli College 48-3 in a game that struggled to spark into life. 

Shirley BHS secured a win at the expense of Ashburton College 69-5, Waimea College beat Burnside HS 59-12 and Marlborough BC beat Lincoln HS 46-5 at Lincoln, meaning that all three Tasman schools beat their Christchurch opposition.
