Midweek teams revel in the rainThe Senior Boys section of the midweek competition has provided us with some outstanding rugby this season and this week's 19 – 19 draw between Linwood and Ellesmere College’s has continued that trend. Also in the senior grade, Christchurch Boys’ High beat Riccarton HS by 15 – 0. Having come from nowhere two years ago, Burnside HS drew with Christchurch Girls’ 17 – 17 and proved that they now have the ability to compete with the best girls sides in the area. Elsewhere in the girls competition Lincoln HS beat Villa Maria by 27 – 15 and Linwood Green drew 12 – 12 with Marian College in the Tens. The Boys Year 9/10 section has been a popular addition to the programme this year and it provided one of the outstanding games of the day in the form of a 12 – 12 between Lincoln HS and Riccarton HS.
