Press Cup Round 7Christ's College's convincing win (38-3) over Shirley BHS means that it assumes the top spot on the competition ladder with St. Bede's and Christchurch BHS close behind and Nelson College in fourth position. St. Bede's beat CBHS (24-14) in a classic encounter, dominated by St. Bede's in the first half, but by Boys' High in the second. Burnside High School again struggled to make any impression on their opposition, losing 0-75 to Nelson College, while St. Thomas's earned a tough away win, 17-15, over Waimea College in Nelson. Roncalli continued their impressive fist year in the competition by beating Lincoln High School 39-15. Ashburton languish at the bottom of the table with another defeat, this time to Marlborough Boys' College 0-27. St. Andrew's completes the round on Tuesday with a match against Timaru BHS.
