Midweek Competition off to a flier

ROUND 1: With twenty-plus matches across five divisions, the CRFU Midweek Competition has started with a bang. In the Senior Boys competition Linwood had a convincing 46 - 5 win over Rangiora and Riccarton started well with a 26 - 5 victory over Area Schools at Kaiapoi RFC. Elsewhere Darfield, Kaiapoi, Papanui and Rangiora all started with wins in the Under 70kg Grade and Burnside, Cashmere, Darfield and Lincoln did the same in the U60 competition. Girls rugby is booming at present and Papanui, St. Margarets, Villa Maria, Lincoln and Avonside all made winning starts to their campaigns; Marian, Aranui and Cathedral did likewise in the Tens grade.
