New Curtain Raiser to Home Games
A new addition to the pre-match entertainment schedule for our Canterbury Air New Zealand Cup home games this season is the introduction of Rippa Rugby as a Curtain Raiser to the main game! Organizer, Lee Golding, Coaching Development Officer at the Canterbury Rugby Union, says a range of clubs from throughout Canterbury, have been invited to take part in the Rippa Rugby competition, and he says the response from the clubs has been phenomenal! Even though the competition has been mostly out of their club season, the clubs see it as a once in a lifetime opportunity for many players to play on the “hallowed turf” of AMI Stadium. Lee says that clubs that have not yet had the opportunity to participate this year will be given first option for the next campaign.
