Christmas Wishes from Management Committee

As 2011 comes to an end, we take time to reflect on a year unlike any other. Many of us have suffered loss, displacement from our homes, job insecurity and a future not as clear as perhaps it was 18 months ago.

Xmas is a joyous and happy time of the year, this year will be a bit different as we contemplate our priorities and  the important things in life as we gather with family and friends to celebrate.

Canterbury’s people have a huge amount of pride in it’s province and very much a get stuck in attitude which will no doubt come to the fore in 2012 as we start to rebuild our city and lives. You as members of the CRRA will be a very important part of this as people look for some normality in their lives and look for a positive outlet. All your efforts in 2011 were outstanding and I extend our sincere thanks to you all for those efforts.

It is also important at this time to recognise that there are many people out there with due to loss and circumstances beyond their control will find this time of the year difficult to celebrate in the traditional way. Our thoughts and best wishes are with you at this time and also for a more prosperous 2012.

Whether you are heading to Golden Bay to lie on a beach, camping in Central Otago, heading overseas or just having some quiet time at home we extend our very best wishes to you and your families for a happy and safe Christmas and New Year.
